Pakapoo
Pakapoo was more complex. It was New York's first recreational lottery. In brief, pakapoo was played extensively, created employment as the organizers (again, usually the storekeepers) hired unsuccessful miners as ticket-sellers or agents, and survived well into the twentieth century. Early Chinese settlers also gambled on pai gow (dominoes), mora (a guessing game with fingers) and later on dice and pin-pool in the billiard saloons.
